You Can Go Makeup Free

Before you gasp and think “I’m no model, I could never do that!”, we're here to set the record straight. The fact is—you’re beautiful! Women have been using makeup since ancient times, but this is 2018 and more and more women are feeling empowered to go bare (on their face that is), and the no make-up/less make-up trend is catching on.

It may take some time for you to adjust to the idea, especially if you’re used to correcting and covering every flaw, but we believe that every woman can go make-up free and look fabulous doing it. So, if you’re going to be flaunting your natural skin, you want it to look the best that it can possibly be, right?

We’ve outlined 6 tips that will get you started on your road to healthy skin and have the confidence to wear your natural beauty anywhere and everywhere.

  1. Exfoliate With A Skin PeelWe want our faces to look fresh and a peel is an excellent way to maintain your skin. Dead skin cells can dull your face and clog your pores, but an at-home skin peel kit is an easy way to get rid of that top layer of old skin and reveal the fresh new skin underneath. The peel will not only help make your skin more vibrant, it will help soften fine lines and wrinkles and help fade other marks like acne or scar.
  2. Eat healthy foods. You do know that you are what you eat, right? So, everything you eat is going to be reflected in the health of your skin which is especially noticeable on your face. Ever notice notice that your face looks more tired after eating lots of junk foods. Like the rest of your body, your skin cells need to be nourished with proteins and other nutrients in order for your body to maintain, repair, and regenerate healthy new cells. The formula for this is easy: Healthy food=healthy cells=radiant face.
  3. Drink plenty of water. Your body is constantly using and losing water, so it needs to be replaced! Look at it this way: A balloon that is filled with air is smooth, shiny, and has bounce. If the air slowly leaks out without being replaced, it starts to shrivel, dulls its sheen, and loses its shape. It’s the same with the skin on your face. Dehydrated skin is flaky, dry, and dull, but water plumps up those skin cells to a healthy fullness, giving your face its freshness. Water is also a great way to flush and detox the body and skin.
  4. Moisturize your face every day. Water hydrates your body from the inside, but moisturizer can give it a boost by hydrating the outside—teamwork! Moisturizing often produces some quick results (we love to see instant progress), helping your skin to keep a good moisture balance. It will smooth skin that is rough, dull or white from dryness, helping your face to better reflect light and giving you that beautiful “glow”. Long-term, moisturizing helps your skin to continue repairing itself so it stays looking healthy.
  5. Wear at least an SPF 15 sunscreen all year. You might have put that sunscreen away after summer but pull that skin protection back out for 4-season wear. The fact is, the sun is out and shines on your lovely face all year long. You may not feel the heat in colder temperatures, by skin-damaging UV rays are still reaching your skin. Wearing sunscreen all year can help your face to avoid wrinkles, peeling, sunspots, and premature aging.
  6. Keep your eyebrows well-groomed. Your beautiful skin isn’t the only thing on your face that is very noticeable and can add to your overall look. When you talk with people, their attention is naturally drawn to your eyes. Brows that are groomed in a way that complements the shape of your face can frame your eyes and create great definition of your facial features—accomplishing the same effect many women try to achieve with makeup!

So be bold, take good care of your skin, and remember that a little maintenance can go a long way. A simple routine like this can have lasting effects and let the real, fabulous you shine through.
