During such an uncertain time, it is no surprise self-care became a booming movement amongst society. Here at Ellen Lange, we have always prioritized this notion, but we made an even larger effort to incorporate it in our daily regimes in order to maintain positive & whole all throughout quarantine. If you ask us, self-care is our ultimate quarantine secret.

Now, everyone has their own version of self-care and what it means to them. As we wiggle our way into normalcy, here are some tips on what we continue to incorporate into our self care routines that has left us calm, positive, and most of all, glowing!


 Exercise is the key to our physical and mental health. We like to dedicate about 45 minutes per day in order to get our blood flowing. Exercise has the benefit of producing collagen, which keeps the skin glowing and is helpful for anti aging.

Some of our favorite quarantine workouts have been Jacqui Kingswell , Melissa Wood Health, Megan Roup and Isaac Boots. They each provide a unique approach to exercise ranging from yoga, to matt pilates, to dance cardio! 


Meditation has been our go to, to stay calm and collected during this time. Meditation has several benefits including better concentration, reduced stress and anxiety, and improved self esteem and self awareness. We have found that it has allowed us to connect and create a more intuitive bond with ourselves, while keeping us collected to face the day ahead. Some gurus who have guided us through this difficult time are Laurasia Mattingly,  Anusha Wijeyakumar and Three Jewels .

Essential Oils

Essential Oils have been our go to during this time. Whether its rubbing some on our palms and the soles of our feet during a meditation, or including a few drops in our peel or baths, they have really allowed us to embrace a calming energy through the art of aroma therapy.

Strongly Morning Start:

We like to start every morning with a tablespoon of flaxseeds, ¾ cup of freshly squeezed Orange Juice, about a teacup of mixed berries, and plenty of water. The flaxseeds, mixed berries, and OJ provide us with the perfect kick start to an anti-oxidant rich morning. Additionally, the OJ gives us a perfect boost of vitamin c, which is also an anti oxidant. Water is especially important because when we wake up our bodies are naturally dehydrated!

Having these foods first thing in the morning is essential as a robust digestive system allows you to intake more vitamins  and fiber. But why focus on anti oxidants ?

 Antioxidants reduce inflammation  and allow skin to repair itself and correct visible damage. These include fine lines, pigmentation, and wrinkles! In combination with a lot of water, it is our key to glowing and hydrating skin.
